This study compares single-port (SP) and reduced-port (RP) robotic surgeries using the da Vinci systems for myomectomy and hysterectomy, analyzing data from 184 patients. The findings indicate that RP surgery, which uses an additional small incision, is a feasible alternative to SP surgery, especially when the da Vinci SP system is unavailable. RP surgery allowed for more leiomyomas to be removed in myomectomy and shorter operating times in hysterectomy compared to SP surgery, with comparable cosmetic outcomes and safety. These results suggest RP surgery as a practical option for minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries, addressing limitations in accessibility and technical constraints of SP systems.
