This study compares the survival outcomes and complications between minimally invasive surgery (MIS) and open surgery in patients with non-endometrioid endometrial cancer. The research, conducted at Seoul National University Hospital, analyzed data from 91 patients who underwent either laparoscopic, robotic, or open abdominal surgery. The findings indicate that there were no significant differences in progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) between the MIS and open surgery groups. However, the MIS group experienced less blood loss and shorter hospital stays compared to the open surgery group. Additionally, lymphovascular space invasion (LVSI) was identified as a significant prognostic factor for both PFS and OS, underscoring its importance in the management of non-endometrioid endometrial cancer. These results suggest that MIS can be a viable option for these patients, offering similar oncological outcomes with reduced recovery time.
